With the widespread application of new technologies such as cloud computing and big data, information security faces new challenges.
Addressing issues like trust difficulties in cross-border trade and high data flow risks, Professor Jiang Rong, Deputy Dean of the Intelligent Applications Research Institute at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, Director of the Key Laboratory of Service Computing in Yunnan Province, and leader of the Yunnan Service Computing and Digital Economy Innovation Team, has determined the research direction of “Information Security and Trustworthy Services in Big Data, Cloud Computing, and Blockchain”. She has embarked on research in this area.
Leveraging national projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation’s “Privacy Security Management of Medical Health Big Data Resources Based on Risk and Trust Assessment in Cloud Service Environments” and “Privacy Security Risks and Privacy Protection of Medical Big Data Facing Cloud Services”, Jiang’s team has created theoretical methods for privacy security of medical big data based on access control. They have developed access control technologies based on risk and trust assessment, effectively mitigating privacy leaks caused by excessive access by internal personnel.
“For me, scientific research is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about pursuing new discoveries, challenging new problems, and proposing innovative solutions,” says Jiang. In her view, research should not be confined to theoretical studies but should also be applied to solve practical issues.
To this end, Jiang’s team has developed a theoretical method for trusted cloud services based on information entropy, providing ways to improve trustworthy service mechanisms. This can solve the trust issues of cloud service customers, reduce risks, and alleviate user concerns. Additionally, they have constructed a blockchain-based cross-border trade trust system model, developed methods for cross-border digital identity authentication, secure exchange of document data, and collaborative sharing of cross-border payment and clearing data. These efforts address the lack of trust mechanisms and data security issues in cross-border trade.
Currently, Jiang’s research field still faces difficulties and challenges: “On one hand, the contradiction between data sharing and privacy leakage is eternal, and security is relative; on the other hand, information technology is developing rapidly, and there is so much for me to learn. Life is limited, but knowledge is infinite.”
The soul of scientific research is innovation, the platform is its cornerstone, and the talent team is the source of innovation. Therefore, as the main person in charge of three key laboratories – the Key Laboratory of Service Computing of Yunnan Province, the Key Laboratory of Service Computing and Security Management of Yunnan Provincial Universities, and the Key Laboratory of Information Economy and Information Management of Kunming – and as the leader of multiple innovation teams including the Service Computing and Digital Economy Innovation Team of Yunnan Province, the Emerging Information Technology and Cross-border Digital Commerce Science and Technology Innovation Team of Yunnan Provincial Universities, and the Emerging Information Technology and Digital Economy Graduate Tutor Team of Yunnan Province, Jiang has always been committed to organizing and conducting high-level basic and applied research, promoting disciplinary development, and cultivating outstanding professionals in the digital economy.
