On June 12, the results of the Fifth National College Business Elite Challenge’s Exhibition Proposal (Crowd Management Plan for Large Events) Competition were announced. The team from our School of Tourism and Hotel Management achieved outstanding results, winning 1 first prize and 2 second prizes. The project “Crowd Management Plan for the Midi Music Festival in Nanyang, Henan”, guided by Tan Qingli and Wu Xuanjin, won the first prize. The projects “Comprehensive Crowd Management Plan for the March Street Ethnic Festival in Dali”, guided by Li Xuesong and Ma Erdan, and “Crowd Management Plan for the China International Travel Mart (Kunming)”, guided by Zhu Tao and Liu Liang, both won second prizes.

This competition is jointly organized by the Commercial Industry Committee of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Commercial Industry Chamber of the China Chamber of International Commerce. It aims to enhance students’ practical abilities and innovative thinking. Since the competition started, it has attracted 443 teams from 226 universities across 30 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and the Macau Special Administrative Region. After four months of intense competition and multiple rounds of evaluation, 312 teams advanced to the national finals, where the competition was exceptionally fierce.

Under the meticulous guidance of Tan Qingli, Wu Xuanjin, Li Xuesong, Ma Erdan, Zhu Tao, Liu Liang, Wang Jing, Zhang Ruicheng, Zhang Bing, and Zhong Zhichen, eight teams consisting of 32 students from four majors—Exhibition Economy and Management, Tourism Management, Hotel Management, and Cultural Industry Management—participated in the competition. Ultimately, three teams won awards in the national finals.
