Recently, the internationally renowned academic platform Research.com released its 2024 annual ranking of the world’s top scientists. Professor Wei Yu from YUFE has been included in the list once again, having first made the cut in 2023. Among the 90 scholars from Chinese universities featured in the Social Sciences and Humanities category, Professor Wei Yu is ranked 34th and is the only scholar from Yunnan Province to be included.
Research.com is one of the world’s leading academic research portals, with rankings based on the D-Index (Discipline H-Index) metric. The 2024 rankings were compiled using bibliometric data from various sources, including OpenAlex and CrossRef, with citation metrics data up to November 21, 2023. The criteria for inclusion in the top scientist rankings are based on the D-index, the proportion of contributions within specific research fields, and the scientists’ awards and achievements. The D-index ranking only includes papers and citation values pertinent to the surveyed disciplines.
