Recently, the National Agency for International Development Cooperation issued a notice approving the inclusion of the “Blue Talent Program for the Indian Ocean Region on Regional Digital Economy Integration” into the Global Development Project Incubator. This marks the first project from YUFE to be included after the establishment of the Global Development Promotion Center under the agency. It signifies the university’s active participation in the “Global Development Initiative” and its efforts to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In September 2021, Chinese President Xi Jinping introduced the “Global Development Initiative” at the United Nations General Assembly, providing guidance and a blueprint for the global development agenda at a critical juncture. In June 2022, President Xi hosted the Global Development High-Level Dialogue, announcing a series of significant measures to implement the initiative, including the establishment of the Global Development Promotion Center under the National Agency for International Development Cooperation, creating a project database, and organizing the Global Shared Development Action Forum.
Yunnan University of Finance and Economics has been actively exploring an international talent cultivation model with unique Yunnan characteristics, aiming to enhance its international education capabilities. Moving forward, the university will continue to leverage the International Business Officials Training Base (Yunnan) of the Ministry of Commerce to complete various international assistance tasks at national and provincial levels with high quality. It aims to elevate the level and quality of international educational exchanges and cooperation between Yunnan Province and key investment countries, serving the country’s opening-up strategy and the major development strategy of Yunnan Province.
